TWC's logistics team was tasked to transport two fabricated frames of a Passenger Boarding Bridge (PBB) from Tuas South Street 5 to Changi Airport Terminal 1 (T1) for a replacement of an existing PBB.

Due to the dimensions of the load, route and the narrow entry leading to the destination, we suggested transporting both loads separately. Parts of the frames has glass components; hence transportation had to be carefully maneuvered to ensure the frames' integrity.

Measuring 21.42m (L) x 3.28m (W) x 4.3m (H) & weighing 52.6 Tons for the longer frame, 7.76m (L) x 3.7m (W) x 4.2m (H) & weighing 19.4 Tons for the shorter frame, we deployed a 12-axle Cometto connected to a Prime Mover to transport the longer frame. A Prime Mover with a Low Bed Trailer was deployed to transport the short frame.

The team had to also deliver the frames within an allocated 15 mins timeslot given by Changi Airport Group (CAG) due to safety regulations.

The whole transport operation was executed in the night as traffic during the planned routes was lighter. As the frames were more than 3m in length, Auxiliary Police escorts were deployed alongside to ensure road users' safety and to control road transportation movement, and the team arrived on schedule.

It was a well-coordinated transportation project and a job well done by our transportation team!
